Personalised dog training and daycare services for you and your dog

Our dogs are part of our family and like us, every dog is different and has its own needs. Paterson's Paws understands this and takes pride in providing quality services for you and your dog at affordable prices.

Paterson's Paws is fully insured to give you peace of mind that your pup is in the best hands.

Where your dog is put first

How many times have you been out with your dog and bumped into a dog walker with several dogs off leash and not under control? How many times have you experienced or heard about group training classes or daycare for dogs that quickly turn into organised chaos?

These type of scenarios are all to common for people to encounter. Paterson's Paws doesn't believe in mixing large groups of dogs. It is firmly in our foundations that your dog should be the priority and should have complete and undivided attention for the services that you are paying for.

From the outset, every aspect of our services is tailored to your dog and their unique needs. An example of this may be that you have an older dog who needs life taken at a slower pace. You may have a dog that has behavioural or medical needs. This is where Paterson's Paws works for you and your dog.

Offering a full assessment of needs for free, Paterson's Paws lets you take control of the services that you want and how you want them.

Training

Training for your dog is so important in order to navigate every day life. From general obedience training to training for specific issues, Paterson's Paws covers it all. In the past I have taken on dogs who have had inputs from other trainers who have said that dogs are "lost causes" or require harmful prong collars. My training methods support positive reinforcement training which means that we focus on the good and reward the desired behaviours.
Training sessions are carried out after an assessment of your dog's needs has been completed. This assessment visit is free of charge and allows me to fully understand the troubles that you are experiencing  and most importantly to meet you and your dog.

Dog Daycare

Our dogs are an important part of our family and should be treated as such when we are not around. P
Our daycare is situated at Harperland Dog Runs, just outside Dundonald in South Ayrshire.
The Daycare is one with a difference as we believe that daycare facilities should be accessible to all dogs. Reactive dogs are catered for as exercising is undertaken singularly or in small groups.
Whilst at daycare, dogs will be rotated throughout periods of physical exercise, mental stimulation and rest periods.
Paterson's Paws treats your dog like my own. My services don't just cover the 9-5, I cover all hours. Having been a shift worker for most of my working life, I appreciate that sometimes all that is needed is that bed time toilet stop or bed time medication that you may not be able to provide if for example you are on a night shift.  Similarly, if you have a night out but your dog needs tended to, I am happy to help in order for your dog's needs to be met.

Online Services

Being a father of two and a dog dad of two, I appreciate how tight for time life can be. That is why I offer online services to address behavioural problems or that burning question you may have about your dog's training and development. Using video chat technology, I will provide a prompt, professional online service to address your concerns.
